 NAPLES, FLORIDA 1999 Swamp Buggy Queen 
Catherine is a 17 year-old junior at Lely High School, where she is on
the honor roll and in the gifted program, Laureate Program, student council
and the Junior Naitonal Honor Society. She is active in the Key Club (and
is Lieutenant Governor, helping to oversee all the Key Clubs in Collier
County); is a member of the Spanish Honor Society, the Junior Academy
of Science an dis president of the Horse Whisperer's 4-H Club. In adition
she scored 5.5 on the Florida Writing Assessment Test.
The 5'5" brown-haired, green eyed queen wants to pursue her interest in competitive riding -- working towards the Olympic Team, journalism and perhaps a career as a veterinarian. An accomplished equestrian, Catherine has participated in shows all over Florida dn holds numberous awards for her horsemanship. She also is an avid fisherman and enjoys basketball, painting and writing. She has been a volunteer at Habitat for Humanity, the Manor Care nursing home, Youth Haven, Florida Network of Youth and Family Services, Special Olympics, families in Immokalee and has volunteered at the Florida Sports Park. Catherine is the daughter of Jennifer and Stephen MacAlister.
